I’m trying to export a tif image file to text file using the API but the output text file I’m getting has rows all left aligned and without any formatting. I also tried using the professional edition desktop with retain layout value of "Formatted text" and it was able to output the correct format. How do I do the same using API? How do I pass it as a param option to Export call?

Could you please specify - the product you are speaking about, - the file format in which you want to save the formatted text?
